The beauty of change

So this is my last English class of the year and we are writing are blogs. i'm still shocked even to be saying that, it's amazing how time fly's it kind of the beauty of life the beauty of change. No one likes change but we all have been through some sort of change in are lives and that where we all can relate in a way it  makes us realize how truly beautiful are memories really are and that's why we hold them so close to are hearts. it shows us how important it is to cherish the people around us and make the most of the memories we have been given. change makes us thank god that we have met the people who have been there for us through thick and thin it makes us have sympathy and respect for the people who truly respect us for who we are. Change sparks emotions within us that we may have never thought we would have had without the experience. the thing with change is that it cant define  the person truly going through the change because they are in the process of changing. change can be good or bad but with the change you can grow as a person and realize that the change was a good thing. the beauty within life is that even when you feel like you are truly lost you can be found, it all goes along with the process of finding who you are and what defines you as a person. change is good it supplies a foundation to grow from and build on too. change is what makes us human and that's all we need is to be are self's and know we are strong enough to get through the change and be willing to grow.

Friends/best friends

The definition of a best friend is a person who you value above other friends in your life, someone you have fun with, someone you trust and someone in whom you confide a shoulder to cry on. a best friend is the one you can run through the six with. don't get this confused with a fam. a fam derived from the word "family" . referring to people that are extremely close; as if a family member  a Group of you can conquer the world. they are the ones to back you up in a fight or help you deal with a break up having best friends are important to being happy you can be happy by yourself but your closest friends make the experience 10x better. having best friends is cool because they all are different, one can be a totally ladies man that gets all the girls, another is the kind of stupid one no one really understands, another is the gamer that play a lot of video games and cant really talk to the ladies but is a true friend. another is the cowboy the one who wears the big belt buckles and huge cowboy hats. another is the outdoors man the one who loves to get down and dirty and is usually's into big trucks and mudding he gets along with the cowboy friend they both enjoy to drive there trucks and listen to country music

Senior night

 Freshman year started out rough but I guess coming to a new school is always rough. Especially because I was that socially awkward kid with purple braces and a mullet. I was so nervous but then I met one of my best friends who is still my friend today. His name is Isaac Rifleman and he is one of the best guys I know he helped me through my freshman year, he was truly my first friend at saint Joseph and I would never want to change that. tonight Isaac,my brother, Alejandro and me are all going to be celebrating are senior night for soccer!That is crazy! especially coming from my mouth i'm a senior its finally starting to hit me. All my buddies will be standing by my side tonight like warriors celebrating a win of glorious opponent. This soccer season has been rough but all the friendships I have made this year over shadow all the negative and bring out all my positive memories I will cherish for ever. Over the years all the people I have met and had the chance to get to know. they have all have become family to me like brothers sharing a common love which is soccer. the long bus drives, the jokes, the team dinners, the bad weather, practices in the snow and rain these are all the amazing memories I have had over my 4 years with the soccer team. It has made me grow as a person and define me more as a man. I have came a long way since freshman year and starting college this fall and I will miss my soccer family. on 3 JAY HAWK family: 1!...2!..3!.. JAY HAWK FAMILY!!

Happiness

the definition of happiness: is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. happiness is the greatest emotion everyone has the ability to be happy. its not the pursuit towards money or power but the direction towards a new brighter future, without stress or having to worry. Happiness is what you make of it. I asked my English teacher Mr.Wood the question he responded with 'happiness to me is making other people happy sacrificing all you have in order to reach it " this stuck me hard. I think we can all in some way can relate to this. coming from my own background my main love is my mom and I will do anything for her so that she would never have pain or worry or have to stress. thinking back now happiness has a deep connection with love because through the people, and passions we love we find happiness. listen toPharrell williams song happy and tell me the emotions you feel after hearing it, and relate it to your own life. happiness is created by you and you are the guide of your own happiness.

Music creates community

music is a form of expression and release shared among all human beings. life revolves around music with a various variety of genres to choose from  the greats from each surface and  make a living off there writing and musical talent. there talents create a culture a form of belonging in which people want to be apart of they want to  live, explore, and adventure with in the serial reality of what this music is  and the atmosphere it creates for them. they all have different backgrounds and stories yet with one song they all become one, they all become connected within there bubble and feel as if nothing can stop them. a community can form  anywhere whether it be you and your two friends by your bedside or 100 people with in a town square.  within this new formed society you must understand the culture the reasoning behind it  the fact that different music is produced in different countries. american hip hop is different from Spanish hip hop within this change the community changes. the overall message within the group is how people follow it its like a moral code in which everyone has to follow its what keeps the group together and in line its never spoken of but everyone knows them. the music changes peoples views ion controversial topics and can change the whole thinking of a society and maybe even the world. no matter the genre no matter the fame everyone can come as one and join the musical society.

Passion- the driving force behind what you doAA

Well as you can tell from the title we are going to talk about passion. A strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything A good example of this:  having a passion for music. Passion can be included within any subject sports, hobbies, music, even your job you can have passion toward. Passion starts with a strong belief in what you do no matter what it is if you believe in it then passion will come through it. Passion is the energy that keeps us going, that keeps us filled with meaning, and happiness, and excitement, and anticipation. Passion is a powerful force in accomplishing anything you set your mind to, and in experiencing work and life the fullest extent possible.

Ultimately, passion is the driving force behind success and happiness that allows us all to live better lives. Its what pushes you to stay after practice and run or train by yourself at home. a good example of this is John Mayer, what got him started was see Marty mcfly in back to the future playing his guitar at the prom. shortly after Mayer rented a guitar and began taking lessons. his first tape was of Stevie ray vaughan's he had a strong passion to become a preforming artist. passion pushed John to write music due to his parents marriage problems, and put him in his own world in which he could control. 

Determination/Working toward your goals

Lets start out with and example this week was the first week of soccer practice Coach is pushing us and my legs are burning we are running full sprints after an already hard practice I feel my mind and muscles telling me no I start to slow down starting  to give up. but with coach yelling faster! faster! you can be tired in the end boys! it motivates me to go faster because the faster I go the faster I will be done. I finish and i'm proud I have made it through another practice. Even this small experience sparked an idea why was my mind telling me not to keep pushing?  Well the answer is simple you don't know how far you can actually  push your self till you try every athlete knows this. the thing about being an athlete  is that you must get in the mind set that your performance is never good enough that you always can improve a good quote for this :Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.
with this improvement you can reach goals you never thought you could reach, most of the time athletes get in the mindset that what they are doing now is enough to make them improve in the long run. This is wrong you need to push harder and harder each day at training, because with every push the strong you become. The reason we push so hard at practice is for the glory at the end of the struggle. coach describes this  a lot at practice he sets up the scenario that practice is the work that you do every week the hard work, you do at your job and the more work you put in that week is how much you will get paid at the end of the week. Game day is the pay day all the work you have put in that week is now rewarded you are getting paid! all that hard work was worth it! song of the week: K'naan- Wavin Flag 

Pursue your wildest dreams

Lately within my own life I have noticed that people have given up on they're dreams or quit on them all together. Most of this is due to the fact that people think they're dreams should happen over night.... Guys! it wouldn't be called a dream if everyone could reach it. Through my own research people work years to obtain that true happiness within what they're dreams imply. It's good to have a dream but to make it easier set smaller goals that will you  help achieve your dream in the long run. remember  a dream is something that you enjoy and want so much you will do anything to achieve it, its something you enjoy and never want to let go of. here's  an example  if you're like me and want to be a recording artist my small time goal right now is to record a single, even though it sounds simple its putting me one step closer to my overall dream.dream. Don't ever lose your focus you're going to have people who hate but if it's important to you then nothing should stop you from it.

Keep going life gets better....everything happens for a reason.

High school is one of the most challenging times of you're life. When your stressed it seems like it will never get better, you feel you will never be happy or do anything right. This is wrong!Life gets challenging at times but that doesn't give you a reason to give up. Have you ever heard the term 'everything happens for a reason" I'm a firm believer in this last weekend me and my brother went and saw the movie Project Almanac. I'm not going to spoil anything besides being a good movie it has a great message behind it. After the movie I tweeted  my response about it amazingly enough the writer of the movie actually responded to my tweet, I decided to message him and ask what the meaning behind the movie was and compare it to my own. The meaning behind him writing it was "There are no second chances." This really spoke to me because mine was "everything happens for a reason" With in life this is true think about? Imagine if you wouldn't have come to saint Joseph catholic high school? to me that means I would have never found my love for music, or the passionate and loving people within my senior class, or the knowledge that I have gained from my loving teachers. Everything has a purpose or meaning behind it like a day you accidentally woke up late and came to work late and got fired but the next month you got hired to an amazing position .. well that's not the end of the world think of it this way what if you didn't get fired you would have never got the job that you love and still be working at the place that you hate.Lets relate this to school, you fail your math test that you studied hard for the night before well maybe that means you need to change your study habits and improve your study skills. First Blog Info

This is my first blog so lets start out with a little background of who I am. My name is Ryan Larrabee I am a senior at saint Joseph catholic high school located in Ogden,UT. I enjoy playing and listening to music, my main instrument is guitar but i'm in the process of  learning piano and bass. My goal and dream is to write and produce music to help people through tough times. Music has helped me  get through a  lot of the problems in my every day life and reach goals that I never thought I could achieve. I like the fact that with any mood your in there is a style or genre of music for that, which can either change your whole mood or hype the state you are already in. Music has a small influence in ever ones life and that's what i love about it everyone has a common interest and can share different opinions on what others listen to its a spiritual, emotional, and chemical connection providing everyone with the company they don't have or the privacy they want.
